What idiots to not only wear that incredibly unwieldy headdress but to cling to antiquated equipment.
Bad job introducing a character with ties to the protagonist and no background for the audience. When you do provide background it is incomplete and feels too late to bother.
He’s stumbled into a DnD adventure.
