To Kill a Mockingbird (5/5)

In typical fashion, I saw this back in high school after we read the book. Watching it now upon request.

Cool title rub.

If this was remade Matthew McConaughey would play Atticus Finch right? Cool name though. The whole family has odd names.

We’re poor, but we have a servant?

Dill sure is one goofy looking fella.

Did someone make a cheesy horror version of this? I mean kill, Boo Radley, etc.

What kind of elderly lady calls a child ugly?

I suppose in this day and age Boo would show up on CrimeReports.com.

She’s gonna puke!

Dill just has to lower his belt line.

These kids can’t stop screwing around for two seconds! And they’re bad at stealth.

“You act more like a girl all the time.” That dialog is not appropriate, but it is funny in this context.

Hilarious squeaky fate solution. Too bad Mythbusters isn’t around anymore to test that one out.

Can you spit on wood?

Pants :)

Damn it Dill! Take a cough drop!

Calm down!

Darn old dress! What kids are in such a rush to get ta school?

Syrup?!

What? Sudden narrative!

You son of a bitch!

Racist creeps stumbling around the woods.

Concrete in a tree?

I’m starting to think this movie is about Gem becoming an adult.

It’s funny to hear “before we were born” in a black and white movie.

Scrawny arms you got there Dill.

Here it comes…

When someone says “you know what we want” I want them to say it. “You know what we want” seems often to be a sign of doing something you know isn’t right.

That’s a lotta Coke(?) bottles stacked up outside the jail.

So we’re going with assumed “no further questions” then? I’ll chalk that up to no Law and Order available in 1960.

Overalls were certainly popular at this time.

I like this witness sitting in front of the judge.

Everyone wants to repeat “do you promise to tell the whole truth…” As quick as possible.

Mr. Ewell says he clearly saw who ran out, but also says he ask Mayella who done it. I guess Atticus decided to let that one go.

Very lenient with the “order in the court”.

For a trial that was round about a year a com’n, this trial was awful quick.

They are not going to want to hear this…

You cast suspicion on Tom Robinson for helping, but he hadn’t done what any random white person asked you’d be on him for misbehaving!

Oh my god! He felt sorry for her! Even after everything else, let’s put him to death!

I doubt Atticus currys any favorite by presenting as superior to the Ewells, and somewhat preachy to the jury.

This is the first time these children have sat still for more than two minutes.

The chief bailiff wears a suit instead of a uniform.

I though he lawyer traditionally rises with the defendant? No Law and Order again.

“A Halloween padgent representing our county’s agricultural products”?! “I was to be a ham”?!

No one noticed!!!
